Block Clients

We really need the ability to block certain clients from scheduling.  No just declining them. There are those finding ways around the decline by utilizing another email address etc. Thank you

Re: Block Clients

This forum doesn't seem to work getting this feature to the proper channels. It for the customer to feel like they are getting some where but they are not. Maybe start to go to twitter and call them out because at this point Square has shown that they are NOT for solo practitioners and their safety! It has been YEARS of this now. YEARS!!! 35 pages of this request up to this point.  Look into GlossGenius for booking if you are a esthetician or massage therapist.

Re: Block Clients

Agreed! This has been one of the features missing. I used to use an online booking system that allowed you to toggle or “turn off” booking ability for that client specifically. I typically don’t have an issue with clients booking online but when they are not a fit with my business anymore and can’t respect my time, it’s necessary. This is a feature that is needed, regardless of no show protection being in place.

Re: Block Clients - Status changed to: Has Product Insight

Hi all 👋 Apologies for the delayed response here but I have returned with some insight from the Square Appointments Product Team! I'll share what they've told me below:

"We don’t have a specific feature for this yet but it’s on our roadmap this year. H
owever, many of our Appointments Sellers are already enrolled in Risk Manager, and can use the Risk Manager’s “Block payment cards” feature to block buyers from booking if the Seller has prepayment or no-show turned on. Unfortunately, there isn’t a good way to block clients from booking if the Seller doesn’t use prepayment or no-show, but this is on our radar for this year."

To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators. In the meantime, keep an eye out for any updates, here, in our Seller Community. We appreciate your input! 🙂

Re: Appointments feature request: Block Clients

Hi @mikethebarber

Nothing new to report on this at the moment, but it seems to be gaining more interest lately so hopefully we can figure out a way to help with situations like this.

One workaround that you can use would be to switch the Reservation Guarantee in your Appointments Settings to "Business must accept or decline all appointment requests".

This allows you to have more control over who actually books up time slots on your calendar.

Re: Appointments feature request: Block Clients

Hey there @UrbanShaveSD

Thanks for sharing this feedback. I can totally see where this feature would be useful for difficult clients and I'll share your feedback with the Appointments team. I've moved this to the Feature Request board where we can track this request.

So…. This is Huge- we have Creeper clients in the massage world that Have to be blocked. If they have harassed my therapist they are Out; no more booking opportunities for them. I can’t accept any of the current workarounds (those aren’t workarounds BTW- if one client needs gone from your client list, they need all their privileges revoked, not us having to make Everyone of the employees accept every appointment of theirs, or not until checkout or Every client prepay, that’s silly for more than a single operator business)

hoping this will be finished Q4 2023 so we can fully use this software and switch from the current one!

ALSO…

Not having this feature should be a solid deal breaker for any massage therapist, chiropractor, physical therapist, or acupuncturist looking to use this software, for their own safety.

SQUARE FOR THE LOVE OF HUMANITY , PLEASE ADD A BLOCK FEATURE.  It's not rocket science,  many many other apps have it.  I have a psycho booking 1000s of fake appointments.   I have criminal charges against him, but until the cops find him he continues to book for 2.5 years now.  I even switched shops snd he keeps booking.  Give us an option to block an email and phone number from booking.

The lack of this feature has me looking at other appointment apps and software.

SQUARE.....WHY WONT YOU REPLY OR ALLOW US TO BLOCK CLIENTS??????  WR HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR YESRS.  THIS IS INSANE.  My local police department has called ya all and asked for this as well.

it was asked in 2017 now its 2023. How many years it would to introduce that feature?

Please add a block feature > block customer IP, ACCOUNT, EMAIL, PHONE NUMBER. Any accounts it creates from same ip.

Didn't someone up the thread say you can block by credit card?   We use no show protection, otherwise people don't respect time.

It seems after a certain point they would exhaust the list of CCs they can use. Way less access to CCs than fake phone numbers , fake names, and fake emails.

Also some of you are dealing with criminal situations and looking to square to solve it.

I don't have a solution, but has anyone used other booking systems that have a robust solution to this? Its much easier to copy another systems solutions. I see the mention of IP address and all that but I don't think most IPs are static, they are dynamic.

If you block email or phone number they will also just cycle through those. So we are just kicking the can ever so slightly without solving the underlying issue.

I don't have a solution.  My condolences to those of you who are dealing with this.

There needs to be a client block list. We need to blacklist people in salons sometimes.

Since this forum is obviously not working to get the proper eyes maybe start tweeting and tagging square.
